The Model 90 boasts an impact-resistant head that is light and stiff and reduces or eliminates the need to realign the head after an accidental crash, such as is common during programming and set-up. Helical rack-and-pinion drives and digital AC brushless motors power the major linear axes. The machine is also laser-calibrated to within millionths of an inch. Zero-backlash harmonic drives power the rotary axes in the head.
