A flame-retardant extrusion grade has been added to the Estane TPU line from Noveon in Cleveland (now Estane Engineered Polymers). The material offers the same easy-processing characteristics as unfilled grades, including the elimination of crystallization problems. It also maintains flexibility, hardness, and tear strength. The new grade has a UL 94V-0 rating at 0.075 in. It is aimed at cables, tubing, film, and sheet. It comes standard in 63 Shore D hardness, but other hardness levels can be formulated.
