A new family of gloss meters is designed to help ensure that interior automotive materials like plastics, leather, or fabrics harmonize in appearance. The new Micro-Gloss S from Byk-Gardner, Columbia, Md., addresses the tight-tolerance QC requirements for auto interiors, which typically require very low gloss. Byk-Gardner guarantees repeatability of ±0.1 gloss units (60°), which allows control within ±0.3 GU. A clear menu structure and a new scroll wheel allow for ease of use. A new diagnostic feature checks the calibration values. The included software allows for direct data transfer to Excel.
