A high-thermal-conductivity alloy introduced last year is now widely available from Brush Wellman Inc., Cleveland. Its new MoldMax V contains copper, nickel, silicon, and chrome—but no beryllium. Aimed at injection and blow molds, it is said to be similar to MoldMax LH beryllium-copper alloy in both hardness (29 Rc) and thermal conductivity (about four to five times greater than P20 tool steel). It’s more than twice as conductive as MoldMax XL, the company’s other non-Be conductive alloy. (216) 486-4200 • www.brushwellman.com
