A new heat-reflecting acrylic compound from Evonik Cyro LLC, Parsippany, N.J., reduces heat buildup by up to 20% in dark-colored outdoor parts for automotive, building/construction, marine, and recreational markets. Acrylite CoolTouch can be used for injection molding or as a cap layer in coextrusions for building roofs, siding, and window frames. It substantially reduces the temperature of substrates such as ABS, PVC, and ASA. Heat reflection also reduces CLTE by up to 22% and increases UV resistance and colorfastness.
