In May, we reported that Sonics & Materials Inc., Newtown, Conn., would introduce at NPE its new e-Press ultrasonic welder, designed to provide precise, repeatable welds to the exact final dimensions of a part. It’s precision welding capabilities are aimed at medical device manufacturers, among others. The May story incorrectly stated that the system welds to a depth tolerance of ±0.003 in.
