High-Strength Colorants Have Broad Compatibility

New high-strength color concentrates are said to provide extra-low letdown ratios in an unusually broad array of plastics, including polyolefins, nylon, ABS, PET, PBT, PBT/ABS blends, and ABS/PC blends.

New high-strength color concentrates are said to provide extra-low letdown ratios in an unusually broad array of plastics, including polyolefins, nylon, ABS, PET, PBT, PBT/ABS blends, and ABS/PC blends. AccelMax SC “super concentrates” from Accel Color, Naperville, Ill., utilize advanced carrier resins from DuPont that are said to provide broader compatibility with polar and nonpolar resins than carriers based on PE or acrylate copolymers. SC concentrates have loadings up to  90% and boast enhanced dispersion, shear, and thermal properties.
