A new line of large hybrid presses comes from Nissei Plastic Industrial Co. Ltd. (parent of Nissei America Inc., Anaheim, Calif.). Its new FVX Series is offered in three tonnages: the FVX560 with 618 U.S. tons, FVX660 (720 tons), and FVX860 (946 tons). FVX uses Nissei’s X-Pump technology, which requires 10% less oil and 45% less energy than a conventional Nissei hydraulic. A variable-speed electric servo motor drives the hydraulic pump, which delivers power only as required. Features include Nissei’s TACT controller with 30-millisec response time and a long-holding-pressure feature (60 sec) for thick parts. Pressure can be controlled to as low as 44 psi and velocity can be controlled down to 0.5 mm/sec. Mold-stop position accuracy has been improved 50%.
