Uniloy Milacron Inc., Tecumseh, Mich., has expanded its new horizontal shuttle line to include a larger model, UMS 35, in single- and double-station versions. It is aimed at 20- to 30-liter jerry cans of HMW-HDPE and coextruded products with up to seven layers. Cycle times for jerry cans are 40 to 50 sec. The 38.5-ton machine accepts molds up to 700 mm long and 930 mm wide. Take-out masks open and close independently of the mold clamp. Each mold cavity has its own calibration cylinders. The UMS 35 also features two modular post-cooling stations.
