A new mini hot-runner system for direct injection of small to micro-sized parts is new from Hasco America Inc., Arden, N.C. Its new H7000 can handle a total shot weight of 20 g and can produce four, eight, or 16 parts per cycle with individual weights from 0.01 to 2 g. The system allows for tip cluster spacing as close as 8 mm. The wear-resistant, highly heat-conductive nozzle tips screw directly into the manifold to ensure optimum heat conduction into the gate from a central cartridge heater. Gate diameters can be as small as 0.4 mm. Units have replaceable thermocouples and a sealing technique that eliminates stresses resulting from thermal expansion of the manifold. A version of the system, called H7001, can be used with a newly developed feed bushing on standard mold sizes of 156 x 156 mm and larger.
