EAS Mold & Die Change Systems, Menomonee Falls, Wis., exhibited two enhancements to its magnetic platens at NPE2015. The new LP (Long Pole) system has magnetic flux sensors mounted in the plate itself to measure the local force on the mold, typically at 10 to 12 points. A new touchscreen control for this system will be available for the firm’s SP (Square Pole) system as well. The controller can optimize the magnetizing and demagnetizing cycles by adjusting current flow and voltage. Also new is remote diagnostic capability via the Internet.
