In March, Arburg in Germany (U.S. office in Rocky Hill, Conn.) introduced the Golden Electric series, its new “high-performance, entry-level” all-electric machines. Like the hydraulic Golden Edition, they are designed to offer an attractive price/performance ratio through a degree of standardization. For example, they offer a fixed combination of tiebar spacing, clamp force, and injection-unit size. The new electric models come in 60, 100, 150, and 200 metric tons.

A 100-metric-ton model will be running at the K 2016 show in Dusseldorf in October.
