INJECTION MOLDING: Six Wittmann Molding Cells And New Robots in Orlando

Wittmann Battenfeld Inc., Torrington, Conn., will feature six injection molding work cells with integrated robots, automation, material handling, and auxiliary equipment as part of its exhibit next month at NPE2015 in Orlando:

• The new SmartPower machine (photo) molding a jeweler’s loop (magnifying glass) for viewing miniature parts being molded on a Wittmann Battenfeld MicroPower machine at
the booth of moldmaker Burteck LLC, Windsor, Conn.

• Two-shot, all-electric EcoPower machine molding an automotive fuel flange of glass-filled nylon and HDPE.

• MicroPower electric micromolding machine producing a liquid silicone rubber (LSR) two-component tear-duct plug.

• MacroPower 650-ton two-platen machine molding a single-cavity PP box.

• Variotherm and Cellmould molding of ABS structural-foam automotive bezel with a smooth surface on an electric EcoPower 240 press.

• Electric EcoPower 240/1330 machine producing stadium cups with in-mold labeling.

Several new Pro Series robots will be operating in the booth, including the W832 and W843. They boast increased stiffness, an LED indicator lamp to display the robot’s operating status, the latest R8.3 control system, and the new high-performance/high-efficiency proDrive.

The new pneumatic sprue picker with Net 8 control system will also be on display, as will the new R8.3 robot operating system, with demonstrations of features like QuickNew easy-teach programming and energy-saving EcoVacuum.
