The Metro Water Reclamation District in Denver has installed 500 ft of what is believed to be the largest composite sewer pipe in North America. The pipe has an inside diameter of 11 ft, 2 in. and is made in 8-ft sections. It conveys wastewater from primary to secondary sewage-treatment facilities. The water contains hydrogen sulfide gas, which bacteria convert to sulfuric acid. The pipe was filament wound by Belco Manufacturing Co., Inc., Belton, Texas, using Vipel F010 bisphenol-A epoxy vinyl ester resin from AOC Inc., Collierville, Tenn.
