Release Coating 7405 from Huron Technologies, Inc., Leslie, Mich., is aimed at armrests, instrument panels, and door side panels. This release boasts a uniform, low-gloss appearance over the entire part and low build-up between mold cleanings. Parts are said to have a "dry surface feel" that adds to the luxurious appearance while minimizing scuffi ng and marring. According to the company, this release agent has passed rigorous paint-adhesion tests such as the GM 4350 certifi cation, performed by external testing services.
