Shini USA, a new division of Budzar Industries, Inc., Willoughby, Ohio, is introducing to the U.S. low-speed granulators from Shini Plastics Technologies, Inc. in Taiwan. These “quiet” machines have a “smasher” blade cutting design as well as a toothed cutting wheel that is said to produce small, clean granules. The units come in three series that can be ordered online: • Screenless types are said to operate dust-free. They come with clear infeed hoppers, throat sizes of 5.5 x 4.5 in. to 9.5 x 18 in., and throughput from 6 to 30 lb/hr. Prices run $4280 to $8458. • Screened models generate low dust and come in two versions. Staggered-blade models have throat sizes from 8.3 x 6.3 in. to 16.5 x 7.8 in. and throughputs from 100 to 286 lb/hr. Prices run $3228 to $4399. • Screened standard-rotor granulators have throat sizes of 7.8 x 11 in. to 7.8 x 16.5 in. and throughputs of 175 to 286 lb/hr. Prices are $2999 to $4299.
