A new line of Japanese-built machines for LSR molding reportedly ensure fl ashless molding without short shots or overpacking. The Sil-Pro Series from Sodick Plustech, Schaumburg, Ill., is unusual because it uses Sodick's two-stage V-line plunger system, which is said to improve molding quality through exact dosing. While other LSR systems have check rings that leak low-viscosity resin and require a shutoff nozzle, the V-Line plunger shuts off material feeding with a patented backfl ow-prevention system and eliminates the shutoff nozzle with a suckback function. The V-Line plunger system is said to provide exceptional low-speed injection control (0.004 in./sec) using a super-responsive hydraulic servo valve driven by a linear motor technology. The line is offered in horizontal models from 5.5 to 385 tons and vertical designs from 22 to 165 tons. Tel: (847) 490-8130 . www.plustech-inc.com
