WEB EXCLUSIVE: Santoprene 121 XXM200 TPV is a high-flow series for automotive parts requiring improved appearance and easier processing, such as glass-encapsulated weatherseals for quarter lights and side fixed-glass applications. Available in Shore hardnesses of 60 A and 75 A, these grades exhibit low dynamic viscosity and enhanced flow over a wide range of shear rates. The result is seals without flow marks, less warpage, and higher gloss. According to the supplier, ExxonMobil Chemical, Akron, Ohio, injection pressures can be reduced by about 30% to 40% and injection temperatures lowered by 10° C (18° F), allowing shorter cycle times, lower energy consumption, and possibly lower glass breakage.
