WEB EXCLUSIVE: A styrenic-based TPE developed expressly for disposable gloves is new from Alliance Polymers & Services LLC, Romulus, Mich. Its new Maxelast D01-0421 for cast film contains no latex or phthalates, is non-toxic and odorless, FDA-compliant for food contact, and is said to be more comfortable than PVC or PE gloves. Extruded into film of 0.03 to 0.04 mm thick, it produces gloves that weigh only 0.09 oz apiece. These gloves produce no frictional noise and turn softer and shape to a user’s hands as they are worn for medical, nursing, food-service, laboratory, or electronics-handling applications.
