WEB EXCLUSIVE: Ineos Styrenics, Channahon, Ill., has added a second, tougher grade to its line of Clearblend styrene-acrylic copolymers. Clearblend 141, launched last year, has a notched Izod impact value of 1 ft-lb/in. and ultimate elongation of 40%. New Clearblend 165 has 5 ft-lb/in. impact and 50% elongation, while retaining almost identical clarity. Its stiffness, strength, and heat resistance are somewhat lower. Both injection molding grades are FDA compliant and are aimed at tumblers, mugs, toys, small appliances, housewares, office accessories, packaging, displays, and other components.
