Zylar 960 is a styrene-acrylic copolymer that achieves a higher level of practical toughness without sacrificing clarity. New from Ineos Styrenics, Channahon, Ill., Zylar 960 boasts a notched Izod impact strength of 11 ft-lb/in., entering the range of many grades of polycarbonate. But Zylar 960 has lower density (1.05 g/cc) and processes more easily, Ineos says. Haze level is 2%.
