WEB EXCLUSIVE: Houston-based Neutrex Inc. has introduced the first of its new high-yield Purgex 700 series of purging compounds that reportedly enable use of approximately 50% less purging material than standard products. Designed for purging PP copolymer, Purgex 741 is said to reduce scrap rates and to speed up color changes, resulting in a 75% increase in purging efficiency.

Grade 741 purges at temperatures from 375 F to 475 F while removing any residual contamination in injection machines and providing efficient cleaning of hot-runner systems, according to Neutrex. Available as a ready-to-use blend of a polyolefin carrier and active ingredients, it provides dual mechanical and chemical purging activity. It is said to be well suited to molding of auto interior trim as well as molded food and pharmaceutical packaging, heavy-duty storage containers, and various consumer and industrial products.
