Two new developments in polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) from DIC International (USA), Parsippany, N.J., include brand-new thermally conductive compounds for automotive use in electric-motor heat sinks. Also new are long-glass PPS compounds for automotive weight-reduction applications. LFZ-2140 black is a 40% long-glass grade aimed at transmission filter housings and charge-air coolers.
