At the recent Fakuma 2011 show in Germany, Momentive Performance Materials Inc., Albany, N.Y., introduced three new LSR systems. Silopren LSR 2171 is described as a new generation of oil-resistant materials for automotive under-hood seals and anti-drainback valves. This mineral-filled, 70 Shore A grade has low compression set and good tear resistance, together with improved oil resistance.

Also new are a pair of ultra-low-compression-set, oil-bleeding LSRs for high-performance mat seals in electrical connectors. They are Silopren LSR 3696/20 (6% oil) with 20 Shore A hardness and Silopren LSR 3596/35 (5%) oil with 35 A hardness.
