WEB EXCLUSIVE: Newly formed Styron LLC (formerly part of Dow Chemical), Midland, Mich., brought out two new sheet extrusion resins. One is Calibre 302V-6 LD polycarbonate efor LED signage and lighting. Proprietary diffusion aid technology reportedly allows more efficient use of PC in LED backlit sign faces and channel letters. It eliminates the need for diffusion films and is UL 94V-2 rated down to 1.5 mm.
Styron also introduced Magnum Matt ABS resin with excellent matte finish for panels and interior components of public transport, automotive, and leisure vehicles. Its good processability allows a matte cap layer to be coextruded uniformly over a base layer.
