At this month’s Fakuma show in Germany, Teknor Apex Co., Pawtucket, R.I., will introduce a series of TPEs that meet U.S. and European regulations for food-contact containers, utensils, and kitchen appliances, as well as children’s soft toys, teething rings, and non-spill lids. The Monprene RG-10100 Series for injection molding and RG-20100 Series for extrusion range in Shore A hardness from 40 to 80, suitable for molded-in seals, soft-touch grips, knobs, anti-skid parts, and other overmolded applications. They adhere to polyolefins and custom formulations are available for adhesion to engineering resins. These TPEs are said to be readily colored and are offered in precolored versions
