What is said to represent a breakthrough technology in purging compounds has been introduced by the Dyna-Purge Div. of Shuman Plastics, Depew, N.Y. New Dyna-Purge D2 reportedly delivers ease-of-use through its innovative scrubbing formulation and wider processing temperature range, making it an ideal solution for injection, extrusion, compounding, and blow molding applications.
Dyna-Purge v.p, Tim Cutler reports that an independent study has demonstrated that D2 is more effective than mechanical (abrasive) and chemical purging compounds, resulting in faster cleaning and less downtime. “It saves time and money as it lowers purging costs and scrap rates and, it’s easy to use with no processing adjustment or mixing required.” The mechanical, non-abrasive D2 features a “triple action” technology that thoroughly cleans and removes material from the screw and barrel as well as the tool or die. With a temperature range of 350-625 F, it is effective at purging virtually all resins with consistent and reliable results, according to Cutler. As part of the new product introduction, processors can choose one of two special offers: a free 10-lb sample of D2 or the purchase of a 55-lb box of D2 with the company’s Satisfaction Guarantee—if the user is not satisfied that it performs better than their current purging compound, Dyna-Purge will fully refund the cost of the product.
