WEB EXCLUSIVE: Houston-based Total Petrochemicals & Refining USA, Inc., has launched two new polystyrene grades with recycled PS content in keeping with growing demand for “sustainable” food-service packaging.

Total rePS-5 is a high-heat crystal product with 25% recycle content for use in foam meat trays, clamshell containers, and dinnerware such as cutlery and injection molded cups. Total rePS-8 is a HIPS grade with 20% recycle content designed for thermoformed cups, containers, and lids. Both comply with FDA requirements for food contact and their recycled content has been validated by UL Environment.
