RTP Co., Winona, Minn., has introduced the Ultra Performance Structural Compounds series to its portfolio of high-temperature structural compounds. The new injection molding grades comprise carbon-fiber-reinforced PEEK, PPA, PPS, and PEI resin systems and are compounded so as to maximize fiber integrity. These compounds are offered with carbon-fiber loadings from 20% to 40%. RTP can tailor compounds for improved impact and fatigue resistance and wear and friction resistance at high pressure/velocity ratios without need for external lubricants. PEEK, PEI, and PPS are inherently flame retardant, but flame retardants can be added to PPA to elevate product safety.
