Three new families of TPEs will be highlighted by Kraiburg TPE (U.S. office in Duluth, Ga.) at FAKUMA 2015 in Friedrichshafen (Oct. 13-17).
For consumer applications, there is a new TPE compound series which the company boasts has an especially convincing cost-effectiveness ratio: these TPEs feature improved adhesion to engineering thermoplastics such as PC and ABS at an attractive price. Innovations in TPEs for ‘slit valves’—valves made of food-compliant TPE, will also debut. Kraiburg now has new compounds with the FDA and EC 10/2011 food certifications, which boast efficient processing in two-component injection molding processes, excellent resilience and reliable adhesion to hard components.
For demanding automotive underhood seal applications, Kraiburg will highlight its new Thermolast V series with will be going into production that month. The new series features high temperature resistance, an improved compression set and good adhesion to nylons. The company will give a presentation on the factors that affect the adhesion of TPE to hard components on Oct. 15 at 3:20-4:00 in the East Foyer.
