Downgauging potential and outstanding processability on LDPE and LLDPE film
lines are claimed for new Enable mPE 35-05CH, a metallocene MDPE from
ExxonMobil Chemical, Houston. With a density of 0.935 g/cc and 0.5 MI, this
hexene copolymer is said to exhibit processing and shrink properties similar to
LDPE together with the mechanical properties of LLDPEs of similar density. Versus
fractional-melt LLDPE, its lower melt temperature (254 F) improves bubble stability. It boasts good impact (75 g dart drop) and tear resistance, plus low internal
haze (17%), suiting it to coex shrink films, overwap film, laminates, stand-up pouches, and medium/heavy-duty bags.

Editor PickThe Need for Generalists: Part 3
In failure analysis, there is a tendency to gravitate to a few common test protocols. But this approach can result in a mismatch of techniques to the problem.
