Multi-Shot, Direct-Drive All-Electric Machine

A new multi-shot all-electric machine is an expansion of the Canbel direct-drive machine series from Negri Bossi USA, New Castle, Del. The first Canbel Multi-Shot machines will range from 55 to 350 tons with injection units from 0.8 to 38 oz in standard and custom configurations. Energy consumption reportedly is 60% less than that of a comparable hydraulic multi-shot press. These presses are said to offer fast cycles, simultaneous machine functions, diverse shot capacities, high injection pressure, the highest nozzle pull-in force in the industry, and screw torque suited to processing engineered materials. A U.S. molder is set to take delivery of the first unit, which will use Negri Bossi’s CanBus PC control that fully integrates the machine, electric servo rotary table, 3-axis servo robot, and 16-zone mold-temperature-controller.
