Special manufacturing and packaging techniques reportedly ensure that a new range of acrylics are free of contaminants, resulting in exceptional clarity and reduced processing defects. Acrylite SuPure polymers from CYRO Industries, Rockaway, N.J., are aimed at optical and automotive applications that require high purity. The materials are loaded into woven polymer bulk packaging to eliminate contamination during shipping. SuPure polymers can be unloaded at customer facilities using a closed system called the Flexicon bulk-bag discharger (supplied by Flexicon Corp., Bethlehem, Pa.), which carries the materials into feed systems with minimal handling and outside contact. Another option is PureGuard packaging, which eliminates dust and contaminants with a heat-sealed “chimney” liner system. A range of grades are available, some with higher heat resistance or higher flow.
