A new copolyester resin designed to produce shrink-film body labels for packaged consumer goods boasts the highest ultimate shrinkage in the marketplace-over 75%-together with low shrink force. Embrace LV is the newest grade in the Embrace family of shrink-film resins from Eastman Chemical Co., Kingsport, Tenn. Under normal extruder conditions, this product is said to maintain the same shrinkage characteristics as previous Embrace grades but has at least 30% lower shrink force. It can produce films with up to 40% lower shrink force than the first-generation Embrace resin-whose shrinkage curve is similar to PVC and OPS-while maintaining ultimate shrinkage well above 70%. This versatility is said to be achieved by making changes to the extrusion process. The new LV grade emulates the high gloss and clarity of earlier grades. Tel: 800-EASTMAN . www.eastman.com
