A micro-feeder and a blender series designed for quick product changes are new from K-Tron International, Pitman, N.J. The new MT12 micro-ingredient powder feeder is the smallest in K-Tron’s line. This twin-screw model feeds from 20 to 2000 g/hr. Both loss-in-weight and volumetric models are offered for continuous or batch operation. The bowl discharges almost completely, leaving minimal residual material. Quick disassembly allows fast and easy cleaning, K-Tron says.

Also new is the K4G gravimetric blender (photo), which comes with up to eight feeder modules of six different types, including the new Bulk Solids Pump (BSP). The compact, modular system simplifies frequent feeder changes. A new four-column stand makes it easy to vary the heights of feeders and incorporate vacuum conveying. It also has K-Tron’s newest weighing technology, the SFTIII, which uses one load cell per feeder instead of three—a less costly approach.
