High cavitation and small parts are targets for a new valve-gate nozzle from Manner International LP, Norcross, Ga. The ceramic-insulated nozzle permits cavity spacing of 16.5 mm. It handles shots as small as 0.01 g. Also new from Manner is a wear-resistant needle valve for abrasive materials. In tests it withstood more than 1.5 million cycles in molding a carbon-fiber compound without any trace of wear. Life expectancy is 5 million cycles. Manner also upgraded its HCS-TS hot-runner temperature controller with integrated nozzle-pin monitoring and sequential pin control for valve-gates. Manner also offers a new controller calibration service, either at the customer’s or its own facilities.
