WEB EXCLUSIVE Two new cost-saving rotary platen styles have been added to the Universal Multishot Systems (UMS) line of ancillary equipment from MGS Mfg, Group Inc., Germantown, Wis. Both series, to be unveiled at the NPE show this month, are available in electric-servo or hydraulic versions. MGS will introduce OEM Rotary Platens, a kit for factory installation of rotary platens on new injection machines. It is said to cut cost by eliminating the base plate from the turntable. MGS also has new Econoline Rotary Platens, which offer a lower profile that reduces shut-height requirements. MGS says they also weigh less, and guarding is now offered as an option.
