A new pick-and-place device automates cut-sheet forming by loading sheet and unloading finished parts. The heavy-duty, three-axis unit from Advanced Ventures in Technology Inc. (AVT), Gladwin, Mich., is claimed to boost output up to 30%. The loader travels 30 in./sec on all axes and boasts accuracy of ±0.010 in. The stand-alone system comes with its own controller or can be controlled from the thermoformer.
