Two basic types of small dryers were recently introduced by AEC, Inc., Wood Dale, Ill. Its new ACD10 Series adds a smaller size to its range of compressed-air dryers, which can be supplied with an optional moisture-absorbing membrane. Minimum dewpoint is -10 F without membrane, -40 F with membrane. The cabinet measures 12 x 12 x 6 in. and can be mounted on the hopper or floor (see photo).
Also new are the ASD Series mini-dryers, a more compact line of dual-desiccant models in capacities of 15, 30, and 60 cfm. Cabinets are as small as 12 x 24 in. They use AEC’s HiCore design, which places heaters within the hollow cores of the desiccant canisters for improved heating efficiency. There are only two small hoses inside the cabinet, helping to minimize maintenance.
