Two series of Uniprene and Monprene TPEs comply with the requirements because they contain no animal-derived materials (ADMs) such as lubricants based on beef tallow.

Two series of Uniprene and Monprene TPEs comply with the requirements because they contain no animal-derived materials (ADMs) such as lubricants based on beef tallow. Potential applications include medical tubing, syringe tips, toothbrushes, ear plugs, and food-packaging seals. Teknor claims that a majority of polymers-including TPEs-contain some animal-derived material. Directives from the European Union and the U.S. FDA put strict limitations on the use of ADMs in medical and other regulated products. Teknor's new ADM-free TPEs are exact counterparts to standard Uniprene and Monprene compounds.
