A nine-layer BXL blown film line now being built by Macro Engineering & Technology Inc., Mississauga, Ont., is its first with nine extruders. Previously, Macro had built nine-layer lines with seven extruders and patented layer encapsulation in the die. This line goes to Kopejsky Plastic in Russia to make high-barrier film for laminating and thermoforming. The line has nine 2-in., 30:1 extruders, a MacroPack stack die with automatic gauge control, and a D10 air ring. Output is 750 lb/hr or 350 ft/min of film with Automax-T bidirectional turret winders. Macro is also building a nine-layer line with seven extruders and layer encapsulation for a customer in India. (905) 507-9000 • www.macroeng.com
