A new nylon 46 from DSM Engineering Plastics, Evansville, Ind., is aimed at high-brightness LEDS used in chip carriers for mobile phones, PDAs, and notebook PCs. Stanyl LED 1551 offers high initial brightness and retains reflectivity under high heat and humidity. It withstands three cycles of reflow soldering at up to 260 C and adheres to silicone or epoxy encapsulants. It also boasts faster cycles than competing PPA resins and high flow for filling low-profile LED molds with up to 220 cavities. (812) 435-7500 • www.dsmep.com
