WEB EXCLUSIVE A new phthalate-free TPE alloy from GLS Corp., McHenry, Ill., addresses recent regulations limiting phthalate-based plasticizers and the growing market demand for low-extractable TPEs. Versaflex CL E95 is plasticizer-free and offers “water clarity,” sterilization capability, and low extractables. Target uses include food and medical tubing, drug storage and delivery devices, face masks, and infant-care items. The TPE is claimed to offer a better balance of clarity, low hardness, and flexibility at low temperatures than competitive products. It is also stable under gamma and autoclave sterilization. A range of hardnesses, custom colors, and flow capabilities are available. (815) 385-8500 * www.glscorp.com
