New retrofittable extrusion controls from Gefran, Winchester, Mass., are the firm’s first ready-to-use, integrated extrusion controls. Its GF-Pack Extrusion controls have preconfigured software and come in three levels of complexity: Extrulabo for lab and small extruders, Extrucomp for medium-sized extruders and pelletizing, and Extrupipe for complete control of a pipe or profile line. Different levels pertain to the number of temperature zones (16, 24, or 48, respectively) and motors controlled (3, 10, or 16). All three levels have color touchscreen graphics, master/slave synchronized motor speeds, closed-loop melt-pressure control, self-adjusting temperature control, out-of-spec and maintenance alarms, diagnostics, and recipe storage. All require either Gefran’s touchpanels (GF_Vedo series) or Digistar II series control PC. (781) 729-5249 • www.gefran.com
