An opaque white stereolithography prototyping resin that simulates the look and feel of molded PP is new from 3D Systems Corp., Valencia, Calif. Accura 25 photocurable epoxy is designed for use on all solid-state SLA systems, including the company's new Viper Pro. The material boasts excellent accuracy, speed, and shape memory, making it suitable for functional prototypes and master patterns, the company says. Potential applications include automotive trim and fascias, as well as electrical connectors, wiring harnesses, and enclosures. Because its properties are similar to PP, it reportedly can replace CNC-machined prototypes.
