The latest family of color masterbatches for packaging and consumer goods from Ampacet Corp., Tarrytown, N.Y., is designed to project a “quiet attitude” due to their dusted and desaturated tonal values. New TechnoPales are chalky, pastel hued colorants available in flat matte or soft sheen finishes. These tones reportedly provide a “visual tactility,” encouraging the consumer to reach out and touch.
“Projecting a quiet attitude and a self-confident stillness, we are seeing these tonal values emerge in a multitude of industries,” said Ampacet color insight manager Linda Carroll. She cited healthcare, personal-care, and beauty products; small kitchen and beauty electrical devices; office furniture; small durables; and sports/recreation equipment.
