A builder of twin-screw PVC compounding extruders believes its latest high-torque model has hit an output record. Corotating model E2.134/26 (134 mm diam., 26:1 L/D) from Ermafa Kunststofftechnik Chemnitz GmbH, Chemnitz, Germany, can pelletize flexible PVC wire and cable compounds at 5500 lb/hr, which Ermafa believes is unmatched for that size. The 134-mm machine has 22,000 Nm of torque per screw and a new high-output screw design. The E2 line also comes in 67, 90, and 112 mm diam.
