New robots designed for cleanroom applications or for high-speed operations on larger injection presses were introduced last fall in Japan by the parent company of Yushin America Inc., Cranston, R.I. The all-servo SXA-300 III/V side-entry robot (three or five axes) is designed for 200- to 500-ton presses in cleanrooms. It handles both the runner and product in a takeout time of 0.63 sec. Payload capacity is 17.6 lb. It has a vertical stroke of 325 mm and kick stroke of 850 mm. Traverse stroke is up to 2000 mm. Its newest addition to the Webliner top-entry series is the RAII alpha 1300 HS, designed to extract large parts from presses of 1100 to 1760 tons in as little as 1.3 sec. It handles payloads up to 55 lb with servo drive on the three main axes, while the wrist-flip is pneumatic.
