A prototype of a traveling circular saw to cut hollow profiles was shown at K 2007 last fall by Blake GmbH in Bleiskastel, Germany. Hollow profiles are typically cut with either a hot knife or guillotine cutter. The new SA 410 rolling-knife cutter is now commercial. It reportedly provides very clean cuts with no chipping, even on thin-wall hollow panels up to 420 mm wide. Blake claims cutting accuracy of ±0.4 mm by integrating table speed with the haul-off. The cutter travels at up to 36 m/min and can make up to one cut per meter at that speed. It’s also sound-insulated and quiet. +49 (6842) 1699 • www.blake.de
