A new self-aligning pipe compression jig for testing underground plastic pipe used for fresh, drainage, and waste-water transportation has been developed by Technical & Scientific Equipment Co. Pty Ltd. in Australia, available here from Ametek Measurement & Calibration Technologies Div., Largo, Fla. Intended for use with the Lloyd Instruments “Plus” range of materials testers, the jig is designed to evaluate the collapse resistance of smooth-walled or corrugated PVC, PP, and HDPE pipes. This fixture can accommodate pipe from 20 to 300 mm diam. and allows compression tests to be conducted on 300-mm-long samples at forces up to 2 tons. (800) 527-9999 • www.lloydinstruments.com
